On the day of Natasha's departure we got an early start, complete with IHOP pancakes. We said goodbye at SFO and then I rode south to Bakersfield.
The campground was on the shore of lake Isabella in the San Bernardino National Forest (which is partially on fire). That morning I shared a huge breakfast with some neighbouring campers: rice and beans, churizo, chicken, bread and soda!
More dessert riding the next day and that night I decided to slum it in a cottage (with a full kitchen) in a ski town called Big Bear Lake.
I've been in California over 2 weeks up and down the coast, though the valleys, desserts and mountains. Time to move on to Arizona.
What's this first photo? Some spontaneous memorial I don't know?

DeleteThey call it a shoe tree. In the middle of nowhere people leave a pair of shoes on this fence.
